ACNH – Do or do not a reset…

It’s been two years since I bought Animal Crossing: New horizon, and I confess that I LOVE this game even though it wasn’t my first Animal Crossing game that I played. My first contact with Animal Crossing was City folk’s, which is considered the most difficult AC in terms of acquiring bells compared to New Leaf (my second game I played) or New Horizons.

In New Horizons I went through all the updates that the game had, however, at least for me I think Animal Crossing: New Horizons still lacks some things, such as minis games, upgrade to Timmy and Tommy’s store. Of course, if you’re new players and you’ve never played the previous titles, it’s clear that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is complete, from a new player’s point of view.

As with all players, we go through the hype phase of the game, but when you pass that phase regardless of whether it’s long or short, the game starts to lose its priority in being played until it hits the shelf it self.

I’m in the game now re-assigning the island, but it’s been a while since I played the game and that’s when I started to think.

“What if I reset my island to have a fresh start?”

But when I asked myself this question, the first thing that came to my mind was:

“I’ll have to do the snowboy and sakura DIY hunts again, which were hard for me to acquire”.

So I made a list of Pros and Cons of resetting my island.

Pros:

  • New island,
  • New Layout,
  • New Fruit,
  • New village starts,
  • Track items more easily in the app.

Cons

  • Go through the start process before K.K appears,
  • Catch again bugs, fish, fossils, sea creatures and paintings,
  • Collect again ALL DIY, recipes, items, seasonal items, etc,
  • Do dreamies hunts again,
  • Collect nook miles,
  • Collect bells,
  • Pay house debt again,
  • Reassign the island,
  • Redo ALL HHP houses,
  • Unlock cafe, art section in museum, mystery islands, caravans on harvey island,
  • Re-unlock items with nook miles (hair, etc),
  • Relearn all reactions,
  • Reactivate pocket camp items, which can be a little difficult to acquire again.

As you can see there are a lot more cons than pros, but before I take this as a final decision I’ll see if I take the game and work a little on the island and see if it’s really worth resetting my island. Since I’m afraid to reset and then never touch the game again.
