My MMORPG’s

Since the internet entered in my life, several online games have also entered, where some stayed and others went.

Nowadays when I think about those online games that I liked to play I feel that many of them are neglected by me, not because they are uninteresting, because they are, but because this genre, MMORPG consumes a lot of time, in addition to being played in the long term. There must be goals in the game in order to motivate the player to continue playing because otherwise it becomes boring to play because it is too repetitive after some time. But also the player don’t feel obliged to play them.

The list that I will present below are games that I tried in the past and where some of them I ended up buying. I will give a brief history of how the various MMORPGs came into my life and talk about the future of the game in the context of whether I will play again.

Black Desert Online

  • No. of Accounts: 2, (Steam, BDO Client)
  • No. Expansion: 5
  • No. of Characters: 4 (3 in the steam account and 1 in the BDO Client)
  • Game Hours: 85h21m

I got to know this game through a friend. I was already playing Guild Wars 2 at the time, but that didn’t make me curious to try the game.

From the trial I did during 7 days the class Dragon Knight was already ready to be in the game.

I confess that the character customization the game offers is undoubtedly quite advanced, where the combat system, housing, the crafting system, among other things captivated me a lot.

As soon the game was in promotion on steam I bought the game where I created my Dragon Knight (main character). Despite the reviews saying that this game is Pay-to-win I personally think this game is open to all players, you just have to be a little patient in the progression of the character in terms of gear, weapons, etc.

I personally like to take my time to explore and understand the mechanics of the game. I am perfectly aware that even today many of the items in my inventory still know what they are for.

Over time I got some special pets and a Tier 4 horse, where I ended up creating 2 more characters where they are in stand by, since I still haven’t completed everything in my main character.

After finishing the main quests of the game’s core, I basically never played the game again, due to lack of objectives and not knowing what to do next, because the areas I have to advance the enemies are very strong for the gear and weapon level that I have now.

I would definitely like to take this game again. One of the goals that I would like to do would be to Crafting an Outfit that I saw for my main character, but also to decorate my house through Crafting, which I don’t know if it is possible to do in full.

With the event that Black desert did a few weeks ago on the twitch I create a second account where is my backup account if for some reason my Steam account has any unforeseen events. I have the notion that I will have to do the whole process again on this account, which I don’t care.

I still don’t have a day to return to the game, but I’ll try to pick it up as soon as there is an opportunity.

Blade & Soul

  • No. of Accounts: 1
  • No. Expansion:
  • No. of Characters: 1
  • Game Hours: 3h24m

When I saw this game I think that if I had to pay to have it, I don’t remember it well. I’m not going to lie about the game of not getting my attention because it did.

I took this game when I was watching the streamer AuroraPeachy, where I entered a giveaway and got an outfit. As I understand it this game has many outfits to collect.

I have to admit that this game is full of action and the game’s prologue I found it fascinating, but unfortunately after having played at least two more times I stopped playing the game, not because it’s bad, but because it would be my fourth MMORPG to learn the mechanics of game, where to add to this list are still another 3 MMORPG (Black Desert Online, The Elder Scrolls: Online and Eldevin) ahead that I am still learning the mechanics, and the time I have is short.

Since this is a free MMORPG I prefer to give priority to mmorpgs that are paid, but eventually I will pick up the game in the near future.

The Elder Scrolls: Online

  • No. of Accounts: 1
  • No. Expansion: 4
  • No. of Characters: 3
  • Game Hours: 292h46m

My first contact in the Elder Scrolls world was this MMORPG where I played with some friends. At the time I was already playing Guild Wars 2 and as expected for some reason I was unable to build a link between myself and the game where I left the game aside for a few years. But everything changed when I played The elder Scroll 3, where I felt the link between me and the world of elder scroll.

Since then I took the game where I created my main character, where I did the main quest and the quests of the alliance I chose to create the character. I am now completing the remaining quests for the other alliances before moving on to the game’s chapters where I won the greymoor in a giveaway. I had the opportunity to try an ESO plus trial where I took the opportunity to do the dark bloodhound DLC and unlock pets, outfits and personalities.

I have already played The elder Scroll 3, 4 and now I am on The elder Scroll 5 and I will most likely play The elder scroll 6. This MMORPG is that I have been playing recently and without a doubt I am learning about the background, the various problems, the various policies, etc. of the various races.

The housing of this MMORPG from what I saw I can, through crafting, decorate my house without trouble. In the last event that took place, for the players that had the greymoor and if the community completes the event to 100%, the players would have a free mansion and it happened.

I recognize that for those who have never played elder scrolls, they may feel lost with the story and be unmotivated to continue the MMORPG, so I suggest to play first a single player in the franchise to see if you like it and then move on to the MMORPG if you prefer it.

As soon as my main character completes most of things I will explore the necromancer and Warden classes.

Eldevin

  • No. of Accounts: 1
  • No. Expansion:
  • No. of Characters: 1
  • Game Hours: 9h10m

I got to know this MMORPG after buying a bundle that contained “DLC’s” for this game. The MMORPG itself is free, but despite the graphics being a little outdated, from the 8h I played I found the game interesting. I unfortunately don’t know much about the game where since MMORPG is free and I always give priority to MMORPGs that are paid.

I have only one character created, where now it’s been standing by for a few years. I will eventually catch up with the game in the near future.

Guild Wars

  • No. of Accounts: 1
  • No. Expansion: 4
  • No. of Characters: 4
  • Game Hours: 85h56m

I bought this MMORPG as part of knowing more about the history of the 250 years before the guild wars 2. Without a doubt, the combat system was a shock to me and eventually I left the game for a few years.

So far I have created 4 characters where 3 of them are spread over 3 campaigns, and the fourth is a character who will stay at Ascalon pre-Searing, to win the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title. One of the tips I saw a lot on the internet in quickly unlocking more heroes with the Nightfall campaign and be careful with the groups of enemies that appear on the map fighting one of each did so as not to be fatal.

One of the goals I have for this MMORPG is to complete the various campaigns, unlock the various heroes, unlock the various skill elites and complete Hall of Monuments in order to unlock the various items in guild wars 2.

Guild Wars 2

  • No. of Accounts: 1
  • No. Expansion: 2
  • No. of Characters: 7
  • Game Hours: 2218h

My first MMORPG that I played more seriously, where it was a friend who introduced me to it. I still played the game for some time until I left it aside, until one day I got into my mind to complete the world map, and then complete the story of the game’s core, then the living worlds, expansions and end game goals like collecting skins, making world bosses, completing achievements, etc.

Where over the 7 years that have passed I created and deleted several characters where I now have 7 characters. I can say that I know the world of the game well where the system of converting gold to gems is undoubtedly an asset in this game in which it gives players the opportunity to have special items without spending real money, which is not the case in most MMORPGs.

I recently don’t feel motivated enough to play the game again, despite having set some goals. However, I hope that the new expansion in Cantha will improve this condition.

As I mentioned earlier, I would like to play these mmorpgs again in order to progress in each of them at my own pace, without jeopardize the single player games on the annual lists I make.

The possible solutions I thought of were:

  • Play a full day dedicated only to the mmorpgs mentioned above,
  • Play each end of the month only the mmorpgs mentioned above,

The days mentioned above would be weekend days, more specifically sundays where I have more time. This event would take effect for next year. It is very likely that i choose to do this event monthly.

However I will analyze the MMORPGs Eldevin and Black Desert Online in the scope if I will create a new character (for Eldevin) or take a character that is already created (for Black Desert Online).
