Let’s play as a Vampire in Morrowind (ES3)

This playing consists the player having already passed the game once. In order to get know the world of this elder scroll 3 better. However the player WILL start as a vampire and being a vampire will be not an easy task.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • +20 to Strength, Willpower, and Speed.
  • +30 to Sneak, Athletics, Acrobatics, Hand-to-hand, Unarmored, Mysticism, Illusion, and Destruction.
  • Immune to Paralysis and Common Disease.
  • +50% Resistance to normal weapons.
  • Vampire Touch spell, which Absorbs Health 10-30 points on touch. It will always have a 100% success rate.
  • Additional bonus based on the clan you’ve joined:
    • Aundae Clan: additional +20 to Willpower, Short Blade, Mysticism, and Destruction.
    • Berne Clan: additional +20 to Agility, Sneak, Unarmored, and Hand-to-hand.
    • Quarra Clan: additional +20 to Strength, Blunt Weapon, Hand-to-hand, and Heavy Armor.
  • A few useful artifacts such as Eltonbrand, Spell Breaker and the Darksun Shield are only available as a vampire.

Cons

  • You do not regenerate health when you sleep (only ways are by using a spell, potion or enchantment with either an Absorb Health effect or a Restore Health effect).
  • Permanent Weakness to Fire effect (50% more damage from spells and enchanted weapons with Fire Damage effects).
  • Permanent Sun Damage effect, which means you’ll take up to 5 points of Sun Damage for every second that you are outside during daylight hours (6 a.m. until 8 p.m.). To counteract this you’ll either have to stay indoors for those hours, or equip Constant Effect Restore Health items to counter the life drain.
  • Impossible to learn any new spells as a vampire. There isn’t a single Spell Merchant in either the base-game or expansions who will teach you new spells.
  • Aside from the Mages Guild and House Telvanni, most people will refuse to talk with with you everyone will either shun you or try to kill you.
  • Travel will be much more difficult, as boatmen, Guild Guides and Silt Strider caravaneers will not transport you, but will be very helpful to access the Propylon network for fast-travel, since other options are limited.
  • It will impossible to get any quests outside of the Vampire, Mages Guild, and House Telvanni Quests, as no one will talk to you to give you the quest.
  • But most of Daedric Quests are still available as well, because they do not require you to talk to someone to accept, merely to activate the shrine. However, Boethiah’s Quest and Mephala’s Quest both require you to talk to at least one person in order to progress through them.
  • The Main Quest is inaccessible (unless you choose the Yagrum Bagarn and Wraithguard quest, though this might ruin a good portion of the game for some people).
  • Commit a crime, that results in a bounty greater than 1 gold, the guards that come to arrest you will not give you the option of paying your bounty or going to jail; they will attack (as though you had a death warrant).

Start the journey

After creating the character, it is necessary to see the following points.

  • Start as a vampire (This is permanent).
  • Provide some items to start the journey.

These codes that will be presented to you are only to be used once. However, this can damage the main quests of the game.

NOTE: When you have found a house to live far from the city and towns because most of the population will shun you, and some will even outright attack you, do this indoors since exposure to the sun will damage you (if you do this in daylight).
