Pokémon Yellow

This version would call Mini adaptation to the anime of the pokémon.

The player begins to play in the Kanto region where he plays as Ash in the small town Pallet, having only one available pokémon that is the famous pikachu.

The main mission of the player is to become the master of pokémons, and for this he will have to work with his pokémons, challenging the gym leaders to enter Pokémon league confronting Elite four to become the new champion.

The secondary mission of the player is to capture the 150 pokémons that is difficult and arduous task.

Considering the limitations of the game Boy I think the game is very well done. The few animations the game do not fail visually. Each site appears to have a predominant color which was a clever way for devs to use the strengths of Game Boy limitations to the maximum.

The soundtrack in this game I can say is memorable. The various tracks of travel, battle, city, etc each one of them has its own track which is amazing. I can still tell you today each melody belong to and start singing the melody.

The mechanics of the game are divided into exploration, travel and combat. At each location a visitor can enter buildings, dungeons and other places. Being able to interact with NPC (with option to change pokemon with some of this npc) and find hidden items. Not forgetting that the player can ride a bike, fly to other places or even sailing from one point to another.

The fighting of this game can be said to be the main attraction of the game. Whether against a trainer or a wild Pokémon, the player’s Pokémon has a 4 attacking disposition to use against the opponent, the first to be lifeless wins the battle. With 6 slots for pokemons this gives some strategy to the player for strong opponent. Of course it is necessary to train the Pokemon to the effect and this can be a bit annoying.

After the player completes the Main quest you can always return if you have not yet been able to collect all the Pokémon. It is one of the most arduous tasks because even someone with another version (Red or blue) to complete the list, there are already pokemon that are not present in this version but in the others.

It is version like Red and blue has its charm that is simply irreplaceable. Even after leaving the other generations the first will always be my favorite.

For those who are casual players and like this genre, this game is best suited to play.
